John Peters puts on an unusual grand opening demonstration by scaling the side of the new shop, Mountain Folk Wilderness Equipment, 302 E. Center.

Operated by Ron Watters and Ike Gayfield, the store is specializing in equipment for "self-propelled" outdoor activities-

climbing, hiking, backpacking, bicycling, canoeing and whitewater boating. Peters demonstrated equipment used in climbing and living on a sheer rock face.
